NYCOB Background

The National Youth Conference on Biodiversity (NYCOB) is a youth-led Biodiversity movement and network of organizations committed towards reducing biodiversity loss and addressing climate change in Ghana through an ambitious campaign initiated by Hero Productions an events, media, marketing and ecotourism promotion enterprise.

The platform governed by a resolution, was launched on May 22 2009 in Accra with support from the Forestry Commission Ghana and the Ministry of Education to create credibility, network and a sense of momentum for biodiversity conservation in Ghana.

Since NYCOB’s establishment in 2009, the platform has annually facilitated the convening of multiple stakeholders to dialogue, build consensus, initiate actions, evaluate progress, celebrate achievements, present petitions, and share ideas on the way forward for biodiversity conservation and ecosystems management in Ghana.
