NYCOB Enterprise Consortium is Ghana’s leading biodiversity business think-tank and incubator that designs market-based instruments and business models for conservation outcomes. The social enterprise was established in 2011 to provide biodiversity business development services and facilitate investment growth in the country's biodiversity-based sectors. Since NYCOB’s formation, the organization has been at the forefront of advocating for the development of Ghana’s biodiversity offsets market, working with multiple stakeholders and the active participation of the private sector. 

NYCOB Enterprise Consortium was established in accordance with the National Youth Conference on Biodiversity (NYCOB) Resolution adopted by stakeholder in 2010 in Ghana for the implementation of a biodiversity programme that seeks to create employment opportunities for the youth through entrepreneurial activities that addresses biodiversity loss and climate change in the country.

The objectives for which NYCOB Enterprise Consortium was formed are to;

  • Promote biodiversity education and awareness including the establishment of biodiversity clubs in schools
  • Facilitate capacity building for biodiversity business and enterprises
  • Advocate for biodiversity offsets market development
  • Drive private investment growth in nature conservation
  • Influence an enabling policy and regulatory environment for mainstreaming biodiversity issues into all sectors of the Ghanaian economy
